It's so nice to meet you.
I grew up in Alabama, a down-home girl who liked to clog on the weekends. I may have even participated in a pageant or two in my day.
I had all that goodness going for me, and yet, for a long time, I didn't really know Jesus. So at the ripe old age of 18, I decided I would go my own way.
Spoiler alert: I made a big, huge mess of it.
In those days, if you had bet my Momma that I would one day preach the Word of God to thousands of people, she would have taken your bet… and lost the house.
If we could grab a cup of coffee together, or if you have a few minutes to listen to one of my sermons, you would likely hear more about that season of my life. You would hear about wandering, wrestling, surrendering, and the kind of grace that rescues.
Jesus showed up and changed everything, top to bottom. What God has redeemed and restored in my life is nothing short of a miracle. It is something I talk about often, and it is a story I never want to stop telling.
Eventually, life brought me to Houston, Texas, the fourth-largest city in the United States. Houston is a city of horrible traffic, flooding, and wildlife that feels a little too committed to indoor living. Possums in the garage, raccoons in the backyard, and rats in the attic: home sweet home! If it weren't for the amazing community I've found in this concrete desert, I might have left long ago.
Houston is also the city where my long battle with infertility ended, and to my great surprise, I welcomed the cutest twins on the planet into my family: Beckett and Eli. Our pup, Luna, rounds out the crew — every bit a part of this family. Not many years after the boys showed up, I left my corporate ladder-climbing job for full-time ministry.
After earning my Master of Arts in Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary, I became a pastor at The Woodlands Methodist Church, where I now get to lead, teach, preach, and serve God's people. It is truly a dream of my heart come true.
I have a passion for hoodie sweatshirts, non-dairy creamer, thriller books that make my heart race, and Alabama football.

Two decades of leading teams — now leading the church.
Luann received a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Alabama and spent twenty years leading teams — from store manager at Babies "R" Us to Distribution Manager at Target to Vice President and Branch Manager at Wells Fargo. No one was more surprised than her when God called her to bring that experience into her local church.
Luann has spent years helping people grow in Christ through discipleship, teaching, preaching, and leadership development. Her ministry experience includes leading multiple ministries and staff teams, raising hundreds of leaders and volunteers, and training more than 75 churches and pastors.
Today, she serves as a Discipleship Pastor, where she helps foster spiritual growth across ministry teams and multiple campuses. She also serves on her church's strategic leadership team, helping to develop leaders, strengthen discipleship pathways, and equip people for faithful ministry.
Luann is passionate about creating space for women and minorities to lead, teach, preach, and serve the Church with the gifts God has given them.
